RESTORING PARENTAL AUTHORITY
Parents across the country are pushing back on local school districts’ policies and practices that contradict their values and beliefs. Top issues include:
Superintendent Few will operate under the commitment that parents are the first and best educator of their children. State policy must respect a parents’ right to direct the education and care of their children and prevent school districts from overstepping their authority.
DELIVERING TAXPAYER ACCOUNTABILITY
Over the last 50 years, spending on education has skyrocketed while the actual education attainment of South Carolina children has declined. Our state’s ability to be accountable to taxpayers has been undermined by federal intrusion, which Superintendent Few will strive to reverse. Top initiatives include:
IMPROVING EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT, SUPPORTING THE TEACHING PROFESSION
South Carolina children and teachers have been subjected to faulty and even harmful standards for more than ten years. Proven best education practices must be restored. To address recruitment and retention of good teachers, Sheri Few will attend to the needs of the education professional.
